Remember, Reflect, Honor

"Every now and then there comes a day where someplace, sometime, you simply have to plant your feet, stand firm and make a point about who you are and what you believe in." -Pat Riley

In reading Riley's book, Winner Within, part of the LIFE Leadership program; this quote struck me.  We live in a give-up culture. Standing firm is not high on the list of the average American.

We are going into a weekend that celebrates our soldiers-Americans who stood firm and made a point to protect the freedoms we have.  I saw an ad recently that asked each one of us to remember, reflect, and honor on Memorial Day.  I challenge each one of us to do that this weekend.

Remember that this Monday is not just a day off work or a time to relax, but a responsibility to remember what has been done by our fallen soldiers to allow this country to be free.

Reflect on what has been sacrificed for us that allows us to chase our dreams. Reflect upon what you stand firm on, what you believe in, and who you are.  Decide to stand firm in your convictions and be an agent of truth.

Honor those amazing people who have died for this country. They gave their lives and planted their feet and stood firm to protect our freedoms and they deserve our respect and honor.

Remember, Reflect, and Honor- I think it's a great way to spend this weekend.  What about you?

  1. I agree Marc! Freedom is never "free"... it ALWAYS comes at a COST!! I appreciate the brave men and women who fought for my freedom in the many wars that the United States has been in, especially the Revolutionary War that provided us a nation where life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are not mere words, but a true opportunity.

Because of the freedoms this country enjoys, I was able to freely hear about another freedom that is available to us... the freedom to enjoy ETERNAL life. That gift of freedom came at the high cost of Jesus Christ dying a shameful death on a cross. I am forever grateful that I live in a country that has religious freedom so I could hear that GOOD NEWS.

And I am grateful for what you and Kristine have done to help Nichole and I enjoy freedom! Your sacrifices of time, effort, money and more certainly came at a cost for you. But you willingly give them up to help us and others enjoy life, liberty and happiness.

As I slow things down to remember... and reflect on the high COST others have paid for MY benefit...I HONOR those who have fought valiantly for this country. For the leadership of LIFE Leadership- including Marc and Kristine Militello- who have provided me with a vehicle that allows me to pursue my purpose. And I honor my God and Savior who gave His only Son's life for mine, that I might not only enjoy eternal life with Him, but also bring His Kingdom down here and destroy the works of the devil until He returns!

    Remember, Reflect, Honor... REVOLUTION!!!

  2. As a vet I greatly appreciate this, thanks Marc!

  3. Great reminder, Marc! I'm so thankful and proud to be an American!

  4. Fired Up! So on spot! I wish most people thought like this!

  5. Thank you for the reminder Marc! I definitely needed it and will spend some time thinking about the great freedoms we still have in this wonderful country that God blessed us with. Have a great weekend!

  6. Thank you Msrc, I will share this as a follow up on Tues. with my students at school. Every year I realize more and more that students don't have any idea why we celebrate most American holidays. I'm honored to be able to share this with my own kids and stidents!
